Celebrations in NDA Camp as CP Radhakrishnan Elected Vice President

The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) celebrated after senior party leader CP Radhakrishnan was elected as India’s new Vice President, securing a decisive victory over opposition nominee B. Sudershan Reddy.

The win was marked by jubilations at Union minister Pralhad Joshi’s residence on Akbar Road, where Radhakrishnan has been staying since filing his nomination on August 20. Senior NDA leaders and ministers extended their congratulations soon after the results were announced.

Home Minister Amit Shah was among the first to send his wishes, saying Radhakrishnan’s leadership and administrative experience would strengthen India’s parliamentary democracy. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised his long public career, describing him as a leader known for humility, integrity, and service.

Former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda expressed confidence that Radhakrishnan would work to uphold democratic traditions, while Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu wished him a fulfilling tenure dedicated to national progress. Former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu also joined in congratulating the newly elected VP.

With his election, CP Radhakrishnan becomes the new face of the Vice President’s office, bringing decades of political experience to one of the country’s highest constitutional roles.
