Lucknow, August 29, 2025: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has strongly condemned the alleged use of abusive language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi by Congress and RJD leaders during a joint rally in Darbhanga, Bihar. He described the remarks as a direct attack on the dignity of democracy and Indian culture.
Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Yogi said the offensive language used at the rally was not only an insult to the Prime Minister but also a disrespectful act that hurt the sentiments of 140 crore Indians. “The abusive language used for the respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the platform of Congress and RJD is reprehensible and out of political decorum. This act is an insult not only to the PM but also to the sentiments of 140 crore Indians,” Yogi wrote.
He also praised PM Modi’s humble beginnings, saying that an ordinary mother, through her struggle and values, raised a son who devoted himself to the nation’s service. “He lives in the hearts of millions of Indians as the most popular leader in the world,” Yogi added.
Yogi further stated that the people of Bihar would respond to such “hateful politics” in a democratic manner, protecting both Indian culture and democratic values.
BJP’s Reaction to ‘Petty Politics’
Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Bhupendra Chaudhary described the incident as an example of Congress’s petty politics, which he said degraded political values and insulted the entire nation. Chaudhary accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of being responsible for the derogatory remarks, claiming that Gandhi has continuously attacked PM Modi and undermined India’s constitutional institutions. He also criticized Gandhi for using disrespectful terms like “tu” (you) for the Prime Minister, saying it showed complete disregard for political decorum.
Chaudhary emphasized that while disagreement and dialogue are essential in a democracy, using such language was an insult to the ideals of democracy. “The language used is an insult to the 140 crore people of the country. India does not accept arrogance or indecency in political discourse,” he said.
Criticism from Bihar Leaders
Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya called the incident a “shameful day” for democracy, adding that the RJD has always spread hatred in society. Maurya accused Congress of following the same path of intolerance. He reminded Congress that India is a democracy, not a “monarchy,” where political power is held by a select few.
Maurya also referenced the Emergency imposed by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, pointing out that the people of Bihar had witnessed the suppression of democracy during that period. He added that today’s Bihar, which is on the path of development, would not tolerate such politics of insult and division.
Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak also condemned the opposition, stating that their politics had “stooped to a new low.” He described the recent yatra as one that crossed all boundaries of insult, hatred, and negativity.
