Who Is Jasveen Sangha, the “Ketamine Queen” Linked to Matthew Perry’s Death?

Jasveen Sangha, a 42-year-old dual citizen of the US and the UK, has admitted her role in supplying the drugs that led to the death of Friends actor Matthew Perry in October 2023. The US Department of Justice confirmed that she will plead guilty to five charges in Los Angeles, including distribution of ketamine resulting in death or serious bodily injury.

Sangha, nicknamed the “Ketamine Queen”, is the fifth and final defendant in the case. The others charged include doctors Salvador Plasencia and Mark Chavez, Kenneth Iwamasa, and Eric Fleming. Investigators said Iwamasa, Perry’s assistant, helped him obtain and inject the drug, while Fleming supplied ketamine purchased from Sangha.

Who is Jasveen Sangha?

Sangha’s background paints a stark contrast to her alleged crimes. A graduate of Calabasas High School (2001), she later earned a Bachelor’s from UC Irvine (2005) and an MBA from Hult Business School (2010), before working briefly at Merrill Lynch.

Her social media once showcased a glamorous lifestyle with luxury vacations and beauty treatments, but prosecutors described her Los Angeles home as a “drug-selling emporium.” In a March 2024 raid, authorities seized 80 ketamine vials and thousands of pills, including methamphetamine, cocaine, and Xanax.

Reports say she supplied 25 vials of ketamine for $6,000 to Perry just four days before his death. She has also been linked to a 2019 overdose death of another client, after which she allegedly searched online whether ketamine could be listed as a cause of death.

Possible Sentence

Sangha has been in custody since August 2024 and faces up to 65 years in prison. Prosecutors may consider a reduced sentence if she accepts responsibility. Her lawyer, Mark Geragos, confirmed that she intends to do so.

Matthew Perry’s Death

Perry, 54, was found unresponsive in the hot tub of his Los Angeles home on October 28, 2023. The medical examiner ruled his death was caused by the acute effects of ketamine.
