A viral video that appeared to show a woman mocking her former classmate for working as a delivery driver has now been revealed to be staged, according to the people involved.
The clip, which spread rapidly across social media, showed a woman questioning and teasing her old schoolmate about his job as a delivery rider. Many viewers criticised her behaviour and came out in support of the man, praising his dignity and hard work.
However, Ayushi Singh, who appeared in the video, later clarified that the clip was never meant to be taken seriously. In an Instagram post, she explained that it was created as a prank and was filmed just for fun with friends.
“Guys, it was just a prank video,” she wrote, adding that they never expected it to gain so much attention online.
Singh explained that she and her friends had noticed a delivery bike parked on the road, and her friend Tarun Singh, who appears in the video, tried to move it aside. While doing so, they decided to record a short, playful clip as a joke.
She also revealed that they decided to speak out after fake social media accounts began posing as Tarun and asking people for money, which raised serious concerns.
Tarun Singh later shared his side of the story in a separate Instagram video. He said he enjoys acting and creating humorous content and agreed to film the clip for fun. He never imagined it would trigger such strong reactions from viewers.
He also warned people not to send money to anyone pretending to be him online.
In another follow-up video, the group showed the location where the clip was filmed and admitted that it was made casually “mazak mein,” without any intention of hurting anyone.
The original video showed Tarun sitting on a delivery bike while Singh jokingly questioned him about his work and laughed. Many viewers initially believed the interaction was genuine, leading to widespread criticism of Singh and praise for Tarun.
Both Ayushi and Tarun are content creators from Patna and regularly share videos about their daily lives on social media.
