VinFast India Opens First Dealership in Surat, Targets 35 Showrooms by End of 2025

VinFast Auto India, the local arm of global electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast, marked its entry into the Indian retail market with the inauguration of its first dealership in Surat, Gujarat, on July 27. The launch represents a key milestone in the company’s efforts to establish a strong presence in India’s growing electric mobility sector.

The 3,000 sq. ft. showroom, located in Piplod, Surat, is operated by Chandan Car, a well-known player in the Indian automotive retail landscape. The facility will provide a comprehensive customer experience, including vehicle display, purchase assistance, and after-sales services. It will showcase VinFast’s upcoming premium electric SUV models—the VF 6 and VF 7.

VinFast plans to open 35 dealerships across more than 27 cities by the end of 2025. Vehicles will be locally assembled at the company’s upcoming manufacturing facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, highlighting India’s strategic role in VinFast’s global production network.

At the inauguration, VinFast Asia CEO Pham Sanh Chau stated, “The Surat showroom reflects our strong commitment to India. We aim to deliver not just electric vehicles, but a complete ownership experience centered on quality, trust, and service excellence.”

To support its expansion, VinFast has partnered with RoadGrid, myTVS, and Global Assure to develop a nationwide charging and service infrastructure. It has also joined forces with Indian cleantech firm BatX Energies to advance battery recycling and establish a circular battery value chain.

The Surat launch underscores VinFast’s ambitions to become a key player in India’s EV market through localized production, strategic partnerships, and a customer-first retail approach.
