Sushant Singh Rajput AI Tool Sparks Outrage; Family Calls It “Insensitive”

A new AI-powered tool that mimics late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput has stirred controversy, with his family and fans expressing strong objections.

The tool, available in the Discover AI section of a social media platform, uses artificial intelligence trained on Sushant’s public interviews, tweets, posts, and speeches to recreate his voice, tone, and conversational style. Users can type in questions and receive responses that sound similar to the actor, often referencing his love for science, astronomy, and philosophy.

So far, reports suggest that more than 5.5 lakh people have interacted with the AI version.

Family Raises Objections

According to a report by Mid-Day, Sushant’s family has demanded the removal of the tool, calling it “insensitive and deeply distressing.”

“Recreating Sushant’s voice and personality through AI is distressing for his loved ones. Many fans have also flagged concerns,” a family statement noted.

They have urged Meta India to take immediate action. However, the company has not yet issued an official response.

Concerns Over AI Ethics

Industry insiders say that controlling such tools is difficult. Even if one bot is removed, similar replicas can be created within minutes. Critics argue that while AI can preserve digital memories, it also raises serious ethical questions about consent, grief, and exploitation.

Fans Divided

While some fans expressed excitement at interacting with a digital version of their idol, others echoed the family’s concern, saying such recreations exploit Sushant’s memory rather than honoring it.

The controversy highlights the dilemma of AI in entertainment — balancing innovation with sensitivity when it comes to representing real people, especially those no longer alive.
