Actor Suniel Shetty turned 64 on August 11, and while wishes poured in from across the film industry, it was a small yet meaningful gesture from his granddaughter Evaraah that became the highlight of his day.

On Monday, the Hera Pheri star shared a photo on Instagram of a customised cake decorated with animal figures and the words “Happy Birthday Ajja” (grandfather). Alongside the picture, he wrote, “My most precious, from my most precious!!”, making it clear the cake was a special gift from little Evaraah.

Family’s Warm Wishes

Suniel’s daughter Athiya Shetty posted an unseen picture of him spending time with Evaraah in a garden, writing, “Happy birthday to the best father and now the best Ajja. We love you sooo much! Thank you for all that you are.”
His son-in-law KL Rahul also shared a message: “Happy happy birthday Ajja — keep inspiring us with everything you do. And please rest more.”

Son Ahan Shetty thanked his father for his constant support and quiet wisdom, writing, “You’ve always been there without needing to be asked. I love you.”

Athiya and Rahul welcomed their daughter on March 24, 2025, making this Suniel’s first birthday as a grandfather.

Reflections on Becoming a Grandparent

Earlier this year, Suniel shared on LinkedIn that becoming a grandfather was an indescribable joy:

“It’s a happiness untouched by anything the world can give or take away. When I hold my granddaughter, none of the other pursuits matter. Seeing my mother hold her great-granddaughter is now a core memory for me.”

Upcoming Projects

On the work front, Suniel was last seen in Hunter Season 2, opposite Jackie Shroff. His next release will be the comedy-drama Welcome To The Jungle, directed by Ahmed Khan and featuring an ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Lara Dutta, Disha Patani, and Raveena Tandon. The film is scheduled to hit theatres later this year.
