SS Rajamouli’s SSMB 29 to Release in 120 Countries, Set to Surpass Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan

After the record-breaking success of Pathaan in 2024, which released in over 100 countries, director SS Rajamouli is preparing to set a new benchmark in global reach. His upcoming film, SSMB 29, starring Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra, is confirmed for release in more than 120 countries—poised to become the biggest worldwide release by an Indian film.

Kenya Confirmed as Key Filming Location

Rajamouli recently met Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs, finalizing the country as the primary location for the film’s African sequences. Nearly 95% of the movie’s African portions will be shot across Masai Mara, Naivasha, Samburu, and Amboseli.
The Kenyan minister praised Rajamouli as “one of the world’s greatest filmmakers” and said the production highlights Kenya’s natural beauty and hospitality.

Global Release Strategy

According to officials, SSMB 29 will release in over 120 countries, with an expected reach of more than a billion viewers worldwide. This move surpasses Pathaan’s 2024 release, which covered 100+ countries and opened to ₹104.8 crore globally on its first day, eventually crossing ₹1,050 crore worldwide.
