Haryana police have arrested Ishant, alias Ishu Gandhi, the prime suspect in the recent shooting outside YouTuber Elvish Yadav’s Gurugram residence, following a dramatic shootout in Faridabad. The suspect was injured during the encounter, sustaining a gunshot wound to his leg, and is now under police custody in a hospital.
The firing incident took place early last Sunday, between 5:30 and 6:00 am, when three masked assailants arrived on a motorbike and opened fire indiscriminately outside Yadav’s house in Sector 56, Gurugram. Between 15 to 30 rounds were fired, and the attackers fled the scene. Fortunately, Yadav was not home at the time, and there were no casualties. CCTV footage later identified the suspects, two of whom were clearly visible.
Yadav’s father, Ram Avtar Yadav, confirmed that the family was present at home when the incident occurred, though he was asleep at the time of the attack. “The police administration is doing its job well,” he said. “Our family was present at home when the firing incident happened.”
The Himanshu Bhau gang later took responsibility for the attack, citing Yadav’s promotion of betting apps, which they claimed had caused harm to families. In response to the attack, authorities have increased security in the area, and investigations are ongoing to uncover any links to organized crime.
Elvish Yadav reassured his followers on Instagram, saying, “My family and I are safe and well. Your kind thoughts and concerns are truly appreciated.” He expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from fans and well-wishers.
With Ishu Gandhi’s arrest, authorities are optimistic that the case will soon be solved, though investigations continue.
