In a recent video, Shilpa Shetty has addressed rumors surrounding her popular Bandra restaurant, Bastian, putting an end to all the speculation about its closure. Amid the ongoing Rs 60-crore fraud allegations involving her and her husband, Raj Kundra, the actress revealed that Bastian is not shutting down but is instead undergoing a transformation.

Shilpa took to Instagram to clarify, “No, I am not shutting down Bastian, I promise.” She explained that the Bandra outlet will now be rebranded into a new South Indian restaurant called Ammakai, while Bastian itself will be relocated to Juhu under the new name Bastian Beach Club.

“I have received numerous calls, but everything said, I can definitely feel the love for Bastian, but don’t turn this love into something toxic. I have literally come to say that Bastian is going nowhere,” she shared in her heartfelt video.

A Return to Her Roots with Ammakai

Shilpa also shared her excitement about returning to her cultural roots with Ammakai, which will serve pure South Indian Mangalorean cuisine. “Something new and brilliant again. Going back to my roots with a place called Ammakai in our Bandra Bastian and Bastian Beach Club in Juhu. So I can’t wait for all of you to try something new and experience new flavours of Bastian hospitality,” she said.

In her Instagram caption, she also gave credit to her brother and CEO of their enterprise, Ranjeet Bindra, for his vision in transforming the hospitality business. “Full credit to my brother, partner, and CEO of our enterprise, Ranjeet Bindra @ranjeetbindra for having this vision of transforming the hospitality business with his expertise and passion at this scale. God Speed,” she wrote.

Bastian’s Journey

Launched in 2016, Bastian quickly became one of Mumbai’s top fine dining spots, particularly known for its seafood offerings, glamorous atmosphere, and celebrity clientele. With signature dishes like the lobster bomb and high-profile soirées, it established itself as a social hotspot.

Shilpa’s clarification comes after reports emerged claiming that the Bandra outlet would close permanently, which coincided with the fraud allegations. Despite the controversy, she reassured her fans that Bastian is here to stay, only evolving and expanding to offer something fresh and exciting.
