Veteran Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal has confirmed that he will not be a part of the much-anticipated Drishyam 3, despite being approached for a role in the thriller franchise. In an exclusive interview, Rawal addressed rumors suggesting his involvement in the movie and clarified that the reports were inaccurate. While acknowledging that the filmmakers did approach him for a role, he emphasized that he did not find the character to be suitable for him, adding, “Maza nahin aaya” (I didn’t enjoy reading my part).
Although Rawal turned down the offer, he had high praise for the Drishyam 3 script, calling it “very good.” However, he explained that even the best scripts need to come with an exciting character for an actor to feel motivated. He said, “I was genuinely impressed [with the script], but even with a great story, your character has to excite you. Otherwise, maza nahin aayega.” This candid statement shows how important it is for Rawal to connect with the role, beyond just the script’s potential.
Success of ‘Thamma’ and Career Milestones
While Drishyam 3 might not be in the cards for Rawal, the actor is basking in the success of his latest release, Thamma. The film, starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, has been performing exceptionally well at the box office, setting new records. On its opening day, Thamma raked in ₹25.11 crore, followed by ₹19.23 crore on the second day and ₹14.45 crore on the third. This brings its opening weekend total to ₹58.79 crore, marking the biggest debut of Ayushmann Khurrana’s career. Rawal expressed his happiness with the film’s success, although he humorously mentioned he hasn’t seen it yet, as he’s currently in Ahmedabad.
‘Drishyam’ Franchise and High Anticipation for ‘Drishyam 3’
The Drishyam franchise has emerged as one of the most successful and beloved thriller series in Bollywood. The first film, released in 2015, became a massive hit, gaining a cult following. Its sequel, Drishyam 2 (2022), exceeded expectations with its phenomenal success, which has only heightened anticipation for the upcoming third installment, slated to release on October 2, 2026.
While Paresh Rawal may not join the Drishyam 3 cast, the film is expected to continue the franchise’s legacy with its gripping storyline and high-profile ensemble cast. Fans are eager to see how the story unfolds, with Ajay Devgn leading the cast once again in the next chapter.
