Param Sundari Trailer: Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor Shine in Their Cross-Cultural Romance

The trailer for Param Sundari, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, was released on August 12, 2025, giving fans a sneak peek into their much-anticipated film. Marking their first on-screen collaboration, the film follows the story of Param, a Punjabi boy played by Sidharth, who falls for Sundari, a South Indian girl portrayed by Janhvi. The love story bridges the gap between different cultures, languages, and geographies.

The trailer, which runs for 2 minutes and 40 seconds, begins with a light-hearted and playful interaction between Param and Sundari inside a church. Their flirtations are laced with references to Bollywood and regional films. However, things take a dramatic turn when Sundari accuses Param of playing with people’s emotions. As tensions rise, Param tries to convince Sundari and others of his sincere feelings.

In one pivotal scene, Sundari confronts Param and his friend, calling them “arrogant, entitled, and prejudiced North Indians.” The moment becomes a turning point in the film, with Sundari taking the opportunity to educate Param about the nuances of South Indian cinema.

Talking about her character, Janhvi Kapoor shared, “Sundari is deeply personal to me. Her grace, quiet strength, and love for her roots resonate with my own South Indian heritage. Shooting in Kerala, surrounded by such beauty, I felt an emotional connection to her world that I hope the audience will feel too,” as quoted by India Today.

Sidharth Malhotra added, “With Param Sundari, I feel like I’m revisiting the kind of romance I grew up loving, but telling it in a way that feels fresh and relatable. Param has that Delhi boy charm, with a love story that makes you cross worlds. We wanted it to look as beautiful as it feels, and Kerala’s magic really made that happen. I hope the audience feels the same warmth and joy we felt while making it.”

Directed by Tushar Jalota, Param Sundari also stars Rajeev Khandelwal, Aakash Dahiya, and Manjot Singh in important roles. The film is scheduled for release in theatres on August 29, 2025.
