Apple is preparing to unveil the iPhone 17 series on September 9, 2025, and the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models are expected to receive significant upgrades across design, performance, camera, and battery. Here’s a look at the six biggest changes likely to be introduced in next month’s launch.
1. Refreshed Design with Expanded Camera Bar
Apple is reportedly revamping the Pro lineup’s design with a wider camera bar that replaces the current bump. The new models may also shift from titanium to a lightweight aluminium frame, and debut in two additional colors—Orange and Dark Blue—alongside the usual Black and Silver options.
2. A19 Pro Chipset with 12GB RAM
The iPhone 17 Pro models are expected to feature Apple’s new A19 Pro processor, built on TSMC’s advanced 3nm architecture. For the first time, Apple may include 12GB of RAM, aimed at delivering smoother multitasking and better performance, especially with Apple Intelligence features.
3. Upgraded Camera System
This year’s Pro models are expected to include a 48MP telephoto lens capable of 8x optical zoom, along with a 48MP main and 48MP ultra-wide sensor. Apple may also add support for 8K video recording. On the front, a new 24MP selfie camera is likely to replace the current sensor, offering sharper imaging for video calls and self-portraits.
4. Improved Display Durability
Apple is rumored to introduce a tougher, anti-reflective, scratch-resistant display for the Pro models. This may include nano-texture glass, a feature that helps reduce glare and improve visibility, especially in bright conditions. The Ceramic Shield protection will likely continue.
5. Longer Battery Life with Adaptive Power Mode

6. Enhanced Cooling System
To support demanding performance, particularly for AI-driven tasks, the iPhone 17 Pro Max may feature a vapor chamber cooling system along with a graphite sheet for better heat dissipation. This upgrade is designed to maintain stable performance under heavy workloads or extended usage.
