Dharmendra, the iconic Bollywood actor known for his rugged looks and versatile performances, passed away recently, prompting tributes from across the film industry. At a prayer meet organized in his memory, his wife and renowned actress Hema Malini shared intimate insights into the veteran star’s unfinished dreams and aspirations.
Dharmendra, born Vishnu Sahney in 1935, rose to fame in the 1960s and 1970s with landmark films such as Phaante, Hare Rama Hare Krishna, and Shalimar. Despite achieving considerable success, Malini revealed that her husband harbored several unrealized ambitions throughout his career. “He always talked about wanting to do more meaningful films, perhaps even directing a project that reflected his deep love for the country,” she recounted during the emotional gathering.

Malini highlighted his desire to invest in education for underprivileged children, a vision truncated by his passing. “He believed education was the key to empowerment. We had started discussing ways to set up schools in rural areas,” she shared, her voice choking with emotion.
Friends and colleagues present at the meet, including actors Jeetendra and Rekha, echoed Malini’s sentiments. Jeetendra recalled working with Dharmendra on Karma and remembered his colleague’s relentless drive. “He was always pushing himself, always aiming higher.
