Google’s Sundar Pichai, Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg Announce AI Partnerships With Reliance

Reliance Industries’ annual general meeting (AGM) turned into a showcase for global tech ambitions on Monday, with Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg unveiling new partnerships aimed at accelerating India’s transition into an AI-driven era.

Zuckerberg: Superintelligence for every Indian

Zuckerberg spoke about Meta’s vision of bringing “personal superintelligence to everyone” through open-source AI models.

“We are seeing glimpses of our AI systems starting to improve themselves. Superintelligence is going to greatly improve all of our existing systems and let us build things that we can’t even imagine today,” he said.

Meta, in partnership with Reliance, plans to make its open-source AI models available to Indian businesses. According to Zuckerberg, this would allow companies of all sizes to integrate advanced AI tools and “empower people with greater agency to shape their own futures.”

Pichai: Google Cloud region in Jamnagar

Echoing the emphasis on India’s central role in the global AI revolution, Sundar Pichai announced the launch of a new Google Cloud region in Jamnagar, developed specifically for Reliance.

“India has always been a special place to Google. Our partnership with Reliance and Jio has already helped bring affordable internet to millions. Now we’re building on this foundation to power the next leap with AI,” Pichai said.

The Jamnagar Cloud hub will provide AI infrastructure to businesses across sectors, from large enterprises to small kirana stores, enabling broader adoption of digital tools.

AI at the heart of India’s digital future

Both executives highlighted India’s growing influence in shaping global AI development. While Zuckerberg framed superintelligence as a way to democratise access to transformative technology, Pichai stressed practical adoption across industries, reinforcing Reliance’s position at the centre of India’s digital transformation.

With these announcements, Reliance, Google, and Meta are positioning themselves at the forefront of what could be India’s next technological leap — extending the digital revolution into an AI-powered future.
