Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir shared an emotional and powerful message in the dressing room after India battled to a 2-2 draw in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, a five-match Test series against England. The series finale marked a turning point for a young Indian squad under pressure—and their coach—following recent series losses to New Zealand and Australia.
Despite the absence of key red-ball veterans like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravichandran Ashwin, the team delivered a resilient performance that showcased the bench strength and rising talent in Indian cricket.
In a behind-the-scenes video shared by the BCCI, Gambhir addressed the team, emphasizing that while players may come and go, the core values and culture of the team must remain unshaken.
“The way this series has panned out—2-2—is an outstanding result. Congratulations to everyone. So remember, you will keep getting better. We keep working on it, we keep improving, because if we keep doing that, we can dominate Test cricket for a very long period,” Gambhir said.
He added, “People will come and go, but the culture of the dressing room should always be like that. People should want to be part of this culture—that is what we want to create.”
Veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja also stepped in with a lighter moment, playfully calling out to teammate Washington Sundar with a laugh, “Washy, idhar aa ja bete,” creating a light-hearted buzz in an otherwise intense atmosphere.
The draw against England serves not only as a morale boost for the Indian team but also as a statement of intent—India is ready to build a new era of dominance in Test cricket with a fresh core and renewed mindset.
