An unusual relationship from Bihar’s Banka district has drawn widespread attention after a 60-year-old woman was found with a 35-year-old man, leading to a public confrontation involving her family.

According to reports, the incident came to light on January 11 at the Amarpur bus stand, where the woman was spotted with the man by her husband and son. What followed was a heated scene, as the family confronted the man and allegedly assaulted him in public, drawing a large crowd.

The woman’s family strongly opposed the relationship and refused to accept it. Videos from the scene later surfaced on social media, showing the woman visibly distressed and holding on to the man. In the footage, she is heard saying that she had married him willingly and considered him her husband.

Local residents stepped in to calm the situation and prevent further violence. The couple was then escorted to the Amarpur police station for their safety, as tensions at the bus stand continued to rise.

How the Relationship Began

As per reports, the relationship began around four months ago after a “wrong number” phone call led to conversations between the two. Over time, the calls reportedly turned into a romantic relationship. The woman later met the man at Bhagalpur railway station, after which they travelled together to Ludhiana.

The woman told the police that they got married there with mutual consent and had been living together since then. She maintained that the relationship was based on love and choice.

Police Action

Given the hostile reaction from the woman’s family, the police took the couple into custody for their protection. Officials have begun examining the situation, including the family dispute and the legal aspects related to the marriage.
