A lighthearted yet chaotic moment from West Bengal’s Naihati Junction railway station has gone viral after a woman attempting to film a dance reel in the middle of a busy platform was accidentally pushed and tripped — sparking a wave of reactions online.
The Incident at Naihati Junction
The video, recorded at platform number 3 of Naihati Junction, shows a young woman dressed in jeans and a top, wearing a face mask, confidently dancing for a social media reel. Commuters were seen walking around her, stepping on and off the train amid the usual station rush.
For a few moments, the woman seemed completely absorbed in her performance — until an unexpected interruption turned her reel into a real-life blooper.
As she continued dancing, another woman, referred to by netizens as ‘Aunty Ji’, crossed her path. The dancer, still focused on her camera, didn’t notice the passerby approaching. The two accidentally collided, causing the dancer to lose balance and fall to the ground.
The moment was captured on video and quickly spread across X (formerly Twitter) with the caption:
“Aunty: 1, Reel maker girl: 0.”
Netizens React to the Viral Clip
The viral clip triggered a mix of amusement and criticism online. Many users joked about the incident, while others highlighted the growing obsession with making reels in public spaces.
One user commented, “This reel illness is spreading like a virus and has taken over the youth.”
Another wrote, “There’s barely space to board the train, and people are out here doing mujra!”
Some even praised the woman who inadvertently caused the fall, with comments like “Respect for Aunty Ji” and “Aunty ko 21 topon ki salaami!”
Another witty remark read, “Gravity got the last laugh — physics wins over reels every time.”
The Bigger Picture: Reel Craze and Safety Concerns
While this particular incident made many laugh, it also raises concerns about the increasing trend of filming social media reels in unsafe public spaces like railway platforms and tracks.
In a similar case from Odisha, a 15-year-old boy tragically lost his life while trying to shoot a video on railway tracks near Janakdevpur station in Puri. The teenager, identified as Vishwajeet Sahu, was struck by a train during the recording.
Incidents like these serve as a reminder that public safety should never be compromised for online attention.
