New Delhi, August 28, 2025 – In a move aimed at boosting tourism and strengthening ties with India, Argentina has eased its entry rules for Indian citizens. From now on, Indian travelers holding a valid US tourist visa can enter Argentina without applying separately for an Argentine visa.
Ambassador Mariano Caucino announced the policy change in New Delhi on Wednesday, calling it a step towards encouraging more Indian visitors. “This is wonderful news for both Argentina and India. We’re ready to welcome more Indian tourists into our wonderful country,” he said.
Easier Travel for Indians
The measure, published in Argentina’s Official Gazette, removes a key hurdle for Indian travelers, making leisure travel to Argentina simpler and faster.
The announcement comes as India and Argentina continue to expand cooperation. Recently, both countries held the 2nd Joint Working Group (JWG) meeting on Agriculture in New Delhi, where officials discussed collaboration in farming and related sectors.
Wider Context
While Argentina is opening its doors to Indian tourists, the United States has proposed tighter rules for certain visa categories. The Trump administration has suggested fixed time limits for F, J, and I visas, affecting international students, cultural exchange participants and foreign journalists, potentially requiring them to apply for extensions.
