Cupertino: Apple has officially announced its next big product showcase — the ‘Awe Dropping’ event — scheduled for September 9, 2025, at 10:30 PM IST. The event will take place at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino and will be streamed globally on Apple’s website, YouTube, and the Apple TV app.
iPhone 17 Lineup Expected
The spotlight will be on the iPhone 17 series, which includes the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and an all-new iPhone 17 Air. The Air is tipped to be Apple’s thinnest iPhone yet — just 5.5mm thick — featuring a 6.6-inch display and a pill-shaped camera module reminiscent of Google’s Pixel devices.
Camera upgrades are expected across the lineup, including a 24MP front camera on the standard iPhone 17 (up from 12MP on the iPhone 16) and 48MP telephoto cameras with 8x optical zoom on the Pro models.
iOS 26 and New Features
The new devices will run on iOS 26, which introduces a Liquid Glass design language, offering a transparent interface in addition to traditional light and dark modes. Other key features include:
- Call screening for unknown numbers
- Real-time translation for calls and texts
- A dedicated Games app for Apple Arcade and third-party titles
Other Product Launches
Alongside iPhones, Apple is expected to unveil the Apple Watch Series 11 with energy-efficient displays and the Watch Ultra 3, which could add satellite connectivity for emergencies. The AirPods Pro 3 may debut with heart-rate monitoring and a touchscreen-enabled charging case.
With its mix of design innovation and health-focused wearables, Apple’s September event is set to be one of its most ambitious launches in years.
