Apple is gearing up for the global launch of its iPhone 17 series next month, with industry leaks pointing to September 9 or 10, 2025, as the likely announcement dates. The lineup is expected to include iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and a new iPhone 17 Air, marking the debut of a slimmer and redesigned iPhone model. Reports suggest the existing Plus model will be discontinued.
Alongside the new iPhones, Apple is also expected to unveil the Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch SE 3, and Apple Watch Ultra 3, making this one of the company’s most anticipated launch events of the year.
Design Upgrades
The iPhone 17 Air and Pro variants are rumoured to feature a horizontal camera layout, replacing the vertical setup seen in the iPhone 16 series. Apple is also said to be introducing its slimmest iPhone yet, a key highlight for design enthusiasts.
Performance and Hardware
The series is likely to debut the A19 Pro chip, built on TSMC’s next-generation 3nm process, with up to 12GB RAM for the first time in an iPhone. This boost in power is expected to enhance performance, particularly for Apple’s AI-powered Apple Intelligence features.
Camera Upgrades
Leaks suggest a major camera overhaul, including a 48MP telephoto lens with up to 8x optical zoom, and upgraded 48MP primary and ultra-wide sensors. Video recording could reach 8K resolution, while the front-facing camera may jump to 24MP for sharper selfies and video calls.
Display and Durability
The iPhone 17 Pro models may feature an improved ceramic shield, an anti-reflective and scratch-resistant display, and nano-texture technology for reduced glare — a feature previously seen in premium monitors.
Pricing (Expected – India)
- iPhone 17 Pro: ₹1,45,990
- iPhone 17 Pro Max: ₹1,64,990
Apple is expected to begin sales in India shortly after the global launch, continuing its push in one of the world’s fastest-growing premium smartphone markets.
