Amidst the Independence Day box office competition, rumors emerged suggesting that Aamir Khan was assisting with the distribution of Rajinikanth’s Coolie in North India. Reports claimed that Khan had personally reached out to PVR-Inox head Ajay Bijli, requesting additional show slots for the film, a move believed to be a sign of his respect for Rajinikanth.

However, Aamir Khan’s team has now stepped in to clear up the confusion. In an official statement issued by Aamir Khan Productions, they denied any involvement in the film’s distribution, stressing that Aamir had not contacted any exhibitors or distributors. The statement clarified that Aamir’s cameo in Coolie is purely a goodwill gesture towards Rajinikanth and director Lokesh Kanagaraj.

The buzz surrounding Coolie, which is set to clash with War 2 over the Independence Day weekend, had initially fueled speculation that Aamir’s involvement went beyond a cameo. However, his team emphasized that Aamir’s actions were solely to support Rajinikanth and not related to any distribution efforts.

Aamir’s team also shared their delight over the positive reception of Sitaare Zameen Par’s YouTube release, while the excitement surrounding Coolie continues to build ahead of its global release on August 14. The film, starring Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Aamir Khan, Upendra, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, and Soubin Shahir, is produced by Sun Pictures and promises to be an action-packed entertainer.
