Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is all set to make a cameo in the much-awaited action thriller Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film stars Rajinikanth in the lead role, and Aamir’s intense avatar as Dahaa has already captured the attention of fans in the trailer. Speculation around Aamir’s fee for his role has been circulating, with reports claiming he charged ₹20 crore for his cameo. However, a recent report by India Today has clarified his actual fee for the film.
Aamir Khan’s Fee for Coolie
Aamir Khan is expected to appear in a 15-minute role in the film. According to sources close to the actor, Aamir did not charge anything for his role. “Aamir Khan has immense love and respect for Rajinikanth and the team of Coolie. He agreed to be a part of the project without even hearing the complete script. This cameo is his way of showing appreciation for the team, and he has not charged any fee for his appearance,” the source revealed.
Why Aamir Khan Agreed to Do Coolie
During the audio and trailer launch event in Hyderabad, Aamir shared why he immediately agreed to join the film. He said, “Lokesh came to meet me, and I didn’t know why. He said, ‘It’s for Coolie. I want you to do a role in the film.’ The moment I learned it was a Rajinikanth film, I said yes right away—without hearing the script, without hearing anything.”
About Coolie
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie features a stellar ensemble cast, including Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, and Sathyaraj, with supporting roles played by Rachita Ram, Reba Monica John, Junior MGR, and others. Backed by Sun Pictures, the film marks Rajinikanth’s 171st role as a lead actor. It is scheduled for release on August 14, 2025, and will clash with the highly anticipated War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji and starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR.
