Allu Arjun Returns to Mumbai for Atlee Film Shoot Days After Grandmother’s Death

Mumbai – Actor Allu Arjun has resumed work just days after the passing of his grandmother, Allu Kanakaratnam. The Pushpa star arrived in Mumbai on Sunday night to join the shoot of director Atlee’s upcoming sci-fi film.

Family Loss

Allu Kanakaratnam passed away in the early hours of August 30 due to age-related illness. The entire Allu–Konidela family, including Allu Aravind, Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, and Allu Arjun, gathered to pay their respects.

On social media, Arjun shared a heartfelt note along with a photo of his grandmother, writing:
“Our beloved grandmother #AlluKanakaratnam garu now rests in her heavenly abode. Her love, wisdom, and presence will be missed every single day. Heartfelt thanks to everyone who came forward to share their affection and condolences. To those far away, your prayers and love were felt just as much. Thank you for your Love. Humbled.”

His younger brother, actor Allu Sirish, also penned an emotional tribute, recalling fond memories of their grandmother—from secret pocket money and protection during childhood to her care in later years. “She will always be remembered fondly as a lot of her traits and genes have passed down in all of us. Will miss her a lot,” Sirish wrote.

Back to Work

After taking a short break for rituals and family mourning, Arjun flew to Mumbai on Sunday evening. He was spotted at the airport with his team before heading to join the film’s schedule on Monday.

Upcoming Project with Atlee

On the professional front, Allu Arjun is currently shooting for Atlee’s ambitious sci-fi project. The film features Deepika Padukone in a key role, with other cast members yet to be officially announced. Arjun was last seen in Pushpa 2: The Rule, which continues to build on the success of the blockbuster franchise.
