Minneapolis Church Shooting: Attacker Scrawled “Nuke India”, “Kill Trump” on Weapons

Minneapolis, August 28, 2025 – A tragic mass shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis left two children dead on Wednesday after a 23-year-old gunman, Robin Westman, opened fire during a church service.

Authorities said Westman used a rifle, shotgun and pistol, firing dozens of rounds before being found dead in the parking lot from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot.

Disturbing Messages on Weapons

Videos posted on Westman’s now-deleted YouTube channel revealed disturbing writings on the weapons and ammunition magazines. Among them were phrases such as “Kill Donald Trump,” “Nuke India,” “Israel must fall,” and “Where is your God?”.

Names of past school shooters were also scrawled on the magazines, some messages written in Cyrillic script. One video showed Westman pointing to a handgun and saying: “This one is for me. In case I need it.” Another video displayed handwritten journals, one over 150 pages long, also written in Cyrillic.

Investigation and Response

US Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed the authenticity of the footage, calling Westman a “deeply sick murderer” who left chilling messages such as “For the Children”. Officials said the attacker legally purchased the firearms, had no criminal history, and acted alone.

President Donald Trump ordered the US flag flown at half-staff nationwide in mourning.

This incident marks the 146th school shooting in the United States since January, highlighting the ongoing crisis of gun violence in the country.
