Boney Kapoor Regrets Not Retaining Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Fardeen Khan for No Entry 2: “It’s Our Loss”

Filmmaker Boney Kapoor recently shared his regret about not being able to retain the original cast for the sequel to the 2005 hit No Entry. The sequel, No Entry 2, was initially announced in 2019, but instead of the original trio—Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, and Fardeen Khan—the new film will star Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor. In a candid interview, Boney Kapoor opened up about the challenges of waiting for the original cast to return, and the changes made as a result.

Boney Kapoor on the Cast Change

In an interview with Instant Bollywood, Boney expressed, “Yeh humara loss hai ki hum original star cast ko nahi rakh paaye. (It’s our loss that we couldn’t retain the original cast.) We waited for almost 8–10 years, but somehow, things didn’t work out. We will miss them.”

He added, “Time passed while we kept waiting, and today, with a new setup, things will likely be different. But I lost the opportunity. The train has moved on. Now, there will always be a regret that the original setup isn’t there.” Boney highlighted how much he would miss Salman, Anil, and Fardeen, calling them all “fantastic” in their own right. “Salman is a fantastic guy, Anil is a fantastic guy, a brother and actor, and Fardeen is one of the best guys I’ve known in the industry,” he said. Despite this, he expressed hope that the new cast would make the film a success.

About No Entry and Its Sequel

No Entry (2005), directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Boney Kapoor, was a huge hit, featuring an ensemble cast of Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Fardeen Khan, Bipasha Basu, Esha Deol, Lara Dutta, and Celina Jaitly. The film revolved around a chaotic series of mistaken identities, extra-marital affairs, and comedic misunderstandings, and became one of the most successful Bollywood comedies at the time.

The sequel, also directed by Anees Bazmee, will feature Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor in the lead roles, though the female cast is still to be officially confirmed. Reports suggest that Tamannaah Bhatia might be part of the film. There were earlier rumors that Diljit Dosanjh, who was initially slated to join the cast, dropped out due to creative differences, but Boney clarified, “Yes, there are date issues, but certainly no creative differences. That is absolutely false.”

The Future of No Entry 2

While Boney Kapoor may feel regret over the cast change, he remains hopeful for the success of the sequel. With a new team and fresh energy, No Entry 2 is gearing up for a big release, aiming to capture the same fun and lightheartedness that made the original such a hit.
