Man’s Body Found in Blue Drum in Rajasthan; Wife and Her Lover Detained

A gruesome discovery was made in Rajasthan’s Khairthal-Tijara area when the body of Hansram, a brick kiln worker, was found stuffed inside a blue drum on Sunday. The drum was placed on the rooftop of a rented house, and the body showed signs of a throat injury, likely caused by a sharp weapon. Neighbors alerted the authorities after a foul smell started emanating from the house.

According to the police, salt had been applied to Hansram’s body to speed up the decomposition process. His wife, Sunita, and her alleged lover, Jitendra, the landlord’s son, were on the run with her three children since Saturday, a few days before the body was discovered.

Hansram, originally from Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh, had been living in the rented rooftop room with his family for about two months. He was reportedly addicted to alcohol and often drank with Jitendra. Sources say that the relationship between Sunita and Jitendra may have played a role in the tragic incident. Jitendra’s wife had passed away 12 years ago.

The case has drawn attention due to its eerie resemblance to a similar ‘blue drum’ murder that occurred in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, earlier this year. In March, Muskan Rastogi and her lover, Sahil Shukla, allegedly killed her husband, Saurabh Rajput, dismembered his body, and sealed it in a blue drum filled with cement.

Both Sunita and Jitendra were detained by the authorities, and their children are currently in the care of social services. The police investigation into Hansram’s death is ongoing.
