Filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj and actor Priyanka Chopra recently shared a lighthearted exchange on social media, revisiting memories from their film Kaminey (2009).
Priyanka had posted a nostalgic note about her role as Sweety Bhope in the Shahid Kapoor starrer, calling it a turning point in her career. Responding to her post, Bhardwaj reshared it with a heartfelt message. He recalled how, during the shoot, Priyanka once got upset with him, prompting him to write a poem on a napkin to make peace.
“Ask me how much I miss those days. You have been one of the finest collaborations of my career,” the filmmaker wrote, adding a few lines of poetry and playfully asking if she was still upset with him.
Priyanka responded warmly, saying, “Hahaha aapse kaun naraaz reh sakta hai? Aaiye milne (Who can stay upset with you? Come, let’s meet).”
Throwback to Kaminey
In her post, Priyanka recalled how Bhardwaj personally visited her in Miami while she was filming Dostana to narrate the story of Kaminey. Initially hesitant because her character had only a few scenes, she trusted Bhardwaj’s vision. The collaboration proved fruitful, and later they worked together again on 7 Khoon Maaf.
