Rajinikanth’s latest release Coolie continues its strong run at the box office, inching closer to the ₹200 crore mark in just four days. The film, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, opened on August 14 with record-breaking numbers and remains ahead of its competitor War 2.

According to trade tracker Sacnilk, Coolie earned ₹35 crore on Sunday, bringing its domestic total to ₹194.25 crore. With this pace, the film is expected to cross ₹200 crore today.
Occupancy and Audience Response
The film recorded 63.75% occupancy in Tamil Nadu on Sunday, with Chennai, Trichy, Dindigul, and Coimbatore leading ticket sales. In Hindi, it saw 41.98% occupancy, particularly strong in Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Lucknow. Telugu screenings registered 49.53% occupancy, with fans turning up in large numbers.
Worldwide Performance
Globally, Coolie has grossed more than ₹320 crore in four days, including over $15 million from overseas markets. Industry experts suggest the film could cross ₹600 crore worldwide, putting it in league with Tamil blockbusters like 2.0, Jailer, and Leo.
Milestone Release
Despite mixed reviews, the movie’s box office success highlights Rajinikanth’s enduring stardom as he celebrates 50 years in cinema. The film also faces competition from Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s War 2, but so far, Coolie has managed to stay ahead.
