Sunita Ahuja Breaks Down, Addresses Govinda Divorce Rumours

Actor Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, has finally spoken out on the persistent divorce rumours surrounding their 37-year-long marriage. In her first YouTube vlog, Sunita broke down emotionally while visiting the Maa Mahakali Temple, making it clear that attempts to “break her home” would not succeed.

Sunita’s Emotional Statement

At the temple, a priest asked Sunita why she had come to pray. Recalling her early years with Govinda, she said:

“When I met Govinda, I prayed that I get married to him and that my life goes well.”

She then addressed the speculation around their marriage:
“Koi bhi mera ghar todne ki koshish kare…jo bhi mera dil dukhayega, Maa Kali sabke gale kaat k rakh degi. Ek acche insaan ko, acchi aurat ko dukh dena acchi baat nahi hai. Mujhe aur kisi pe vishwas nahi hai.”
(“Whoever tries to break my home, whoever hurts me, Maa Kali will punish them. It’s not right to hurt a good person, a good woman. I trust no one else.”)

Rumours of Separation

In February this year, several reports claimed that Govinda and Sunita were heading for divorce due to lifestyle differences and Govinda’s alleged closeness to a younger actress. Some even suggested that the couple had filed for divorce six months earlier.

However, their lawyer — also a family friend — dismissed the chatter, confirming that the couple was “going strong” and had decided to remain together.

Sunita’s Previous Clarifications

Earlier, Sunita had already labelled the divorce rumours as “baseless,” insisting that no one should believe such reports without hearing directly from them.

“Jis din confirm hoga, ya mere aur Govinda ke mu se aap log sunoge, vo alag baat hai,” she said. “But I don’t think Govinda can live without me, nor can I live without Govinda. And Govinda can never leave his family for any stupid person or stupid woman.”

Married since 1987, Govinda and Sunita have two children, Tina and Yashvardan. Despite the speculation, both have maintained that their bond remains strong.
