Jr NTR’s entry into Bollywood could not have been more spectacular. His debut in Ayan Mukerji’s War 2 has set social media ablaze, with fans celebrating both inside and outside theatres in full festive mode.
Videos from early screenings show street celebrations starting at dawn, with fans bursting firecrackers, lighting flares, performing poojas, and dancing in customised T-shirts emblazoned with NTR’s face. Streets in several cities turned into full-blown party zones, complete with disco lights, giant posters, and confetti showers.

Once the film began, the celebrations only intensified. Jr NTR’s heroic entry scene — featuring him shirtless, soaring into frame and landing in style on a ship — had audiences erupting in cheers. Fans were seen hooting, screaming, and dancing in the aisles as confetti rained down, making it feel less like a movie screening and more like a rock concert.
The Role & Story
In War 2, Jr NTR plays Vikram, an elite operative who finds himself in a high-stakes cat-and-mouse chase against Hrithik Roshan’s Kabir. This globe-trotting spy thriller also features Kiara Advani, Ashutosh Rana, and Anil Kapoor, and is the latest installment in YRF’s expanding Spy Universe.
Box Office Buzz
Released in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil on August 14, 2025, War 2 has already crossed ₹30 crore in advance ticket sales. The film is on track for a blockbuster weekend, though it faces tough competition from Rajinikanth’s Coolie, which is dominating early box office numbers.
