Tesla is set to open its second showroom in India on August 11 in New Delhi, just weeks after inaugurating its first outlet in Mumbai. The announcement was made via the company’s official X account with the message, “Arriving in Delhi – stay tuned.”
On July 15, Tesla opened its first showroom at Maker Maxity Mall in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). The EV giant also launched its first public charging station at the same location.
Tesla Model Y: India Launch Details
Tesla has officially entered India’s automotive market with the Model Y, a midsize electric SUV priced from ₹60 lakh. Initially, it will be the only Tesla model available in the country, offered in two variants:
- Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD): ₹60 lakh
- Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive (LR RWD): ₹68 lakh
Customers can also add the Full Self-Driving (FSD) package for an additional ₹6 lakh.
The Model Y comes in six colour options — Stealth Grey (no extra cost), Pearl White Multi-Coat, Diamond Black, Ultra Red, Quicksilver, and Glacier Blue (all at extra cost). The interior will be available in black or white, with a five-seat configuration.
Performance and Features
The LR RWD variant offers a range of 622 km and accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 5.6 seconds. Tesla’s supercharging technology can add up to 267 km of range in just 15 minutes.
Both variants feature heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats with power folding, eight exterior cameras for driver assistance, second-generation connectivity hardware, and a hands-free power trunk.
Availability
Deliveries and registration for the Model Y will initially be available only in Mumbai, Delhi, and Gurugram. Pricing may vary depending on state taxes. Deliveries are expected to begin in the third quarter of 2025.
