Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Bengaluru on Sunday, August 10, to launch a series of major transport and infrastructure projects, including the much-awaited Yellow Line of the Bangalore Metro. The visit will also see significant traffic restrictions across parts of the city between 8:30 am and 2:30 pm.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Modi will begin his day at KSR Railway Station around 11 am, where he will flag off three Vande Bharat Express trains. These services will connect Bengaluru to Belagavi, Amritsar to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, and Nagpur (Ajni) to Pune.
Following this, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Yellow Line of the Bangalore Metro, running from RV Road (Ragigudda) to Bommasandra. Covering over 19 km with 16 stations, the ₹7,160-crore project is expected to significantly improve connectivity in the southern parts of the city. With its launch, the operational metro network in Bengaluru will expand to more than 96 km. Modi will also take a metro ride from RV Road to Electronic City.
At around 1 pm, Modi will attend a public event in Bengaluru to inaugurate additional urban connectivity projects and lay the foundation for Phase 3 of the Bangalore Metro. Phase 3, valued at over ₹15,610 crore, will add more than 44 km of elevated track and 31 new stations to the network.
