Nepal-Born Police Officer Killed in Georgia

ATLANTA, GA – A Georgia police officer, of Nepali descent, was fatally shot while responding to a fraud call, authorities confirmed on Monday. Pradeep Tamang, 31, was killed in the line of duty in the city of Woodstock, located northeast of Atlanta.

According to police reports, officers were dispatched to a residence at approximately 6:45 p.m. on Sunday following a report of a potential fraud incident. Upon arrival, Tamang was engaged in a confrontation with a suspect who opened fire, striking and killing the officer. The suspect was apprehended at the scene and is currently in custody.
