India Unveils BRICS 2026 Logo, Theme & Website

New Delhi unveiled the logo, theme, and website for India’s BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) presidency in 2026. The launch event, held today, signifies India’s preparations to steer the bloc during a period of significant global transition and evolving geopolitical dynamics.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar delivered a keynote address, outlining India’s vision for its BRICS chairmanship. He emphasized the importance of the grouping as a platform for South-South cooperation and its potential to address common challenges faced by developing nations. The theme for India’s BRICS presidency is “Vazhuttooruma” (meaning ‘Prosperity through Unity’), reflecting the nation’s commitment to fostering inclusive growth and shared development.

Jaishankar highlighted the need for BRICS to remain relevant and responsive to the changing needs of its member states and the wider global community. He stressed the importance of strengthening institutional mechanisms, enhancing people-to-people exchanges, and promoting collaboration in key areas such as digital economy, healthcare, and sustainable development. The Minister also touched upon the recent expansion of the BRICS membership, welcoming new members and expressing confidence in their contributions to the bloc’s objectives.

Focus Areas for India’s Presidency

India’s BRICS 2026 agenda will prioritize strengthening the bloc’s economic partnership, promoting digital transformation, and enhancing cooperation in addressing global challenges like climate change and counter-terrorism. A key focus will be on creating a more equitable and representative global order, where the voices of developing countries are adequately heard and their interests are effectively addressed. The website, launched today, will serve as a central hub for information related to India’s BRICS activities, including upcoming events, policy documents, and news updates.

The logo incorporates elements representing India’s rich cultural heritage and its commitment to innovation. It features a stylized lotus flower, symbolizing prosperity and growth, alongside representations of the five BRICS nations. The color scheme reflects the diversity and vibrancy of the member states. The Ministry of External Affairs stated that the launch marks a significant milestone in India’s BRICS journey and demonstrates its dedication to multilateralism and international cooperation.

India assumes the BRICS presidency from Russia, and will subsequently pass it on to China in 2027. The preparations for 2026 are already underway, with various ministries and departments working in coordination to ensure a successful and impactful presidency. The government anticipates hosting a series of high-level meetings and events throughout the year, bringing together leaders, policymakers, and experts from across the BRICS nations and beyond. The emphasis will be on tangible outcomes and concrete initiatives that contribute to the sustainable development and prosperity of the BRICS community.

The event was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of External Affairs, representatives from BRICS member countries, and members of the diplomatic corps. The launch was broadcast live on social media platforms, reaching a wide audience both domestically and internationally.
