Gaurav Khanna wins Bigg Boss 19, dedicates victory to ‘common man’ and fans

Bigg Boss 19 wrapped up on December 7 with TV actor Gaurav Khanna lifting the trophy, while Farrhana Bhatt finished as the runner-up after a tense finale.

“This is the victory of a common man”

Speaking after his win, Gaurav said he sees his journey as a reflection of ordinary people who quietly endure criticism and pressure in daily life.

“I want to dedicate this journey to my fans because without them, this wouldn’t have been possible. This is the victory of a common man,” he said, adding that people doubted and mocked him just as bosses and colleagues often do in real life. “I am very happy to be a normal man,” he added.

Asked if his dignified behaviour inside the house helped him win, Gaurav said he wanted to prove that drama isn’t the only way to stand out on Bigg Boss.

“I believe truth and goodness always prevail. I wanted to show that you don’t have to abuse, fight or break things to be noticed. I wanted to win by speaking only when necessary and not reacting when provoked. I’m very happy I could do that,” he said.

His game inside the house

From the start, Gaurav was known as a quiet, observant contestant. He rarely jumped into conflict and instead watched others closely, choosing alliances carefully with Pranit More, Mridul Tiwari, Abhishek Bajaj and Ashnoor Kaur.

For most of the season he stayed on the back foot, sharing his views indirectly rather than confronting housemates head-on. However, in the final stretch, he became more vocal, giving sharp comebacks to fellow contestants Farrhana Bhatt and Tanya Mittal and asserting himself more strongly in tasks and discussions.

Host Salman Khan praised Gaurav’s calm, controlled style during the last Weekend Ka Vaar, calling out his composed personality and balanced gameplay. Salman also hinted that he would like to work with Gaurav in the future.

Gaurav walked away with the Bigg Boss 19 trophy and a cash prize of ₹50 lakh, closing out a season where he proved that restraint and patience can still win in a format built on confrontation and chaos.
