Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Manoj Tiwari has alleged that he was attacked by Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supporters during a roadshow in Buxar, Bihar. According to reports, the incident occurred during Tiwari’s campaign activities in the area. The BJP MP claimed that RJD workers disrupted his roadshow, hurled abuses, and attempted to physically assault him.
The incident has sparked outrage among BJP leaders and workers, who have condemned the alleged attack and demanded swift action against the perpetrators. The BJP has accused the RJD of resorting to violence and intimidation tactics in an attempt to disrupt the democratic process.
“We were peacefully conducting our roadshow when RJD goons suddenly attacked us. They were shouting slogans and trying to create chaos. They even hurled abuses and tried to physically assault me,” Tiwari stated, as reported by various news outlets. He further alleged that the attackers were carrying RJD flags and were clearly identifiable as supporters of the opposition party.
Political Reactions
Following the incident, senior BJP leaders have expressed their strong condemnation and called for a thorough investigation into the matter. Bihar BJP president Samrat Choudhary stated that the attack was a clear indication of the RJD’s desperation and their fear of losing the upcoming elections. “The RJD is resorting to violence because they know they are losing ground. They cannot win the hearts of the people through democratic means, so they are resorting to these kinds of tactics,” Choudhary said.
The RJD, however, has denied any involvement in the alleged attack. Party leaders have dismissed the allegations as baseless and politically motivated. They have accused the BJP of trying to gain sympathy by making false claims. RJD spokesperson Manoj Jha stated that the BJP was trying to divert attention from the real issues facing the people of Bihar. “These are all fabricated allegations. The BJP is trying to create a false narrative to gain political mileage,” Jha said.
Local police officials have stated that they are investigating the incident and have assured that appropriate action will be taken against anyone found guilty. The police have registered a case based on Tiwari’s complaint and have begun collecting evidence and recording statements from witnesses. Senior police officials have appealed to all political parties to maintain peace and harmony during the election period.
The incident has raised concerns about the possibility of increased political violence in the run-up to the elections. Political analysts have warned that such incidents could potentially vitiate the atmosphere and undermine the democratic process. They have urged all political parties to exercise restraint and ensure that their supporters conduct themselves in a responsible manner.
The incident in Buxar highlights the intense political rivalry between the BJP and the RJD in Bihar. Both parties are vying for power in the state, and the upcoming elections are expected to be closely contested. The allegations of violence and intimidation have added a new dimension to the political landscape and have raised concerns about the fairness and transparency of the electoral process.
