India-Bound Honda 0 Alpha Prototype SUV Showcased at Japan Mobility Show

Honda has officially unveiled the Honda 0 Alpha Prototype SUV at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show. The new model marks the entry point to Honda’s “0 Series” of electric vehicles and is set to launch in India and Japan in 2027, followed by select global markets.

Notably, the Honda 0 Alpha will be manufactured in India, rather than being imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU).

Design and Exterior Highlights

The 0 Alpha carries forward the design language from the earlier Honda 0 SUV, which debuted at CES 2025, but comes in a smaller, more compact form.

Its design features include:

  • Upright front fascia with vertical LED lights connected by a sleek LED strip.
  • Illuminated Honda emblem with an integrated charging port.
  • Prominent C-pillar and sharply tapering window line for a sporty stance.
  • Aerodynamic 19-inch five-spoke alloy wheels housed in bold wheel arches.
  • Full-width U-shaped LED taillights and a faux bash plate at the rear.

Interior and Features

Inside, the SUV follows Honda’s minimalist “Thin” packaging philosophy, emphasizing space and technology. While official specifications are yet to be revealed, the production version is expected to feature:

  • A flat floor layout for added cabin space.
  • Advanced connectivity and infotainment options.
  • Comprehensive safety and convenience features aligned with global EV standards.

Expected Rivals in India

Once launched, the Honda 0 Alpha SUV will compete with the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara, along with other electric SUVs like the Mahindra BE, MG ZS EV, Hyundai Creta Electric, and Tata Curvv EV.
