Veteran actor Satish Shah, best known for his role in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, passed away on October 25 due to kidney failure. A prayer meet was held on October 27, where several celebrities from the film and television industry gathered to pay their final respects.

During the event, actress Rupali Ganguly was seen with folded hands, emotionally requesting photographers not to film Satish Shah’s wife, Madhu Shah, who is reportedly battling Alzheimer’s disease. A video of this moment has since gone viral, earning widespread praise for Rupali’s sensitivity and respect.

“Aap se ek request… Madhu kaki ka mat lo… please. Please neeche kar lo. Unko jaane do, hum log yahin hain,” Rupali said tearfully, asking the media to give the grieving family privacy.

Several of Shah’s close friends and colleagues, including Supriya Pathak, Shabana Azmi, Poonam Dhillon, Padmini Kolhapure, JD Majethia, Sumeet Raghavan, and Rajesh Kumar, attended the prayer meet. The gathering turned into a heartfelt celebration of the late actor’s life, with his co-stars singing songs he loved and sharing fond memories.

Producer JD Majethia shared, “We wanted to celebrate Satish ji’s life. The songs he used to sing, we are singing those very songs today to remember him with joy and laughter — just the way he lived.”

Actor Sumeet Raghavan also penned an emotional note recalling their time together on Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. “No one has said, ‘ye hamare ghar ke Indravadan hai.’ There’s only one Indravadan, and that is Satish Shah. He left all of us,” he wrote.

The Sarabhai vs Sarabhai cast — including Rupali Ganguly, Sumeet Raghavan, Rajesh Kumar, Deven Bhojani, JD Majethia, and Aatish Kapadia — concluded the prayer meet with a special tribute, singing the show’s title track in memory of their beloved co-star.
