Patna – The Mahagatbandhan, Bihar’s ruling coalition, is facing turbulence as seat-sharing negotiations for the 2025 Assembly elections have hit a roadblock. Despite multiple rounds of discussions, the alliance partners have failed to reach a consensus on a formula acceptable to all stakeholders. Stumbling Blocks in Negotiations

These parties, while not commanding a large vote share individually, hold influence in certain pockets of the state and are crucial for mobilizing support among specific demographic groups. Each party believes its unique strengths should be adequately represented in the seat allocation.

Some parties favor a formula based on past electoral performance, while others advocate for a more equitable distribution that takes into account social and regional factors.
