3 Delhi Schools Evacuated After Fresh Bomb Threats, Security Agencies on Alert

Three schools in Delhi’s Dwarka area were evacuated on Monday morning after receiving bomb threats via email, officials confirmed. The institutions named were Delhi Public School (DPS) Dwarka, Modern Convent School, and ShreeRam World School in Sector 10.

According to police, students and staff were immediately escorted out as a precaution, while bomb disposal squads and the Delhi Fire Service launched intensive search operations across the campuses. “All students and staff have been evacuated as a precautionary measure. Searches are underway,” a Delhi Police officer said.

Part of a Larger Pattern

The fresh scare comes just weeks after a spate of similar incidents in the national capital. On July 18, over 50 schools, including well-known institutions such as St Xavier’s, Richmond Global School, Abhinav Public School, and The Sovereign School, had reported receiving identical threats, leading to citywide panic.

In mid-July, St Stephen’s College and St Thomas School in Dwarka were also targeted, a day after three other schools reported hoax mails. Police later traced one such threat to a 12-year-old boy from south Delhi, who was questioned and sent for counselling.

Concerns Over Safety

Although all earlier threats turned out to be hoaxes, parents and school authorities remain worried about the repeated disruptions and psychological impact on children. Former Delhi chief minister and AAP leader Atishi recently criticized the BJP-led administration, saying the city’s governance had failed to guarantee children’s safety despite controlling all key agencies.

Officials reiterated that precautionary evacuations will continue to be the standard response until each threat is verified. Investigations are ongoing to track the source of the latest email targeting DPS Dwarka.
